2021-22 Collages
Between 2020 and 2022 when there sometimes were empty shelves and isolated streets, I found myself in the studio thinking about basic things. The simple act of collaging "beautiful lines and a wash of color" became whole representations of what was basic: a red barn a magnolia tree, a road, a chair, old loved things. The moon, The sky. The ocean. The planet.
The following collages were made using my own uncompleted drawings (2019 to 2022) from pastel, graphite, acrylic and black ink on Aquarelle Arches paper. Each measures 18 by 24 inches.
